Roles Manager
Advanced role management system with hierarchical promotions and permissions
Overview
The Roles Manager is a powerful system for managing role hierarchies, promotions, demotions, and role assignments in your server. It allows you to create custom panels with role ladders, manage permissions per action, and track all role changes with detailed logging.
Perfect For:
- • Military/Police roleplay servers with rank structures
- • Gaming clans with promotion systems
- • Organizations with hierarchical role management
- • Any server requiring structured role progression
Key Features
Role Panels
Create multiple panels with custom role hierarchies and permissions
Promotion Ladder
Define ordered promotion roles with automatic progression
Recruitment System
Track recruited members and manage their role progression
Warning System
Progressive warning roles with automatic demotion on max warnings
Permission Control
Granular permissions per action type (recruit, promote, demote, etc.)
Action Logging
Detailed logs for all role changes with executor and target information
How It Works
1Create a Panel
Set up a panel with a name, description, and configure log channels for different action types (promotions, demotions, role sets).
2Define Role Hierarchies
Create role maps for recruit roles, promotion ladder, additional roles, warning roles, and termination roles. Drag and drop to set hierarchy order.
3Assign Managers
Specify which roles can perform each action type. Different roles can manage recruitment, promotions, demotions, warnings, and terminations.
4Use Commands
Staff members use /panels to view available panels and perform actions on members.
Panel Configuration
Basic Settings
Panel Name
textUnique name for this role panel
Panel Description
textDescription of what this panel manages
Log Channels
Promotions Log Channel
channelChannel for logging promotion actions
Demotions Log Channel
channelChannel for logging demotion actions
Role Set Log Channel
channelChannel for logging recruit, set, warning, and terminate actions
Action Types
Recruit
Adds all configured recruit roles to a new member. Marks them as recruited in the system.
Promotion
Moves member up the promotion ladder by one step. Removes previous promotion role and adds next role.
Demotion
Moves member down the promotion ladder by one step. Removes current role and adds previous role.
Set (Additional Roles)
Toggle additional roles that don't affect promotion ladder. Opens a dropdown to select roles.
Warning
Adds progressive warning roles. At max warnings, automatically demotes one step and clears warnings.
Terminate
Removes all panel roles and adds termination roles. Removes member from recruited list.
Role Maps
Role maps define the hierarchy and available roles for each action type. Roles are ordered by hierarchy (drag to reorder).
Recruit Roles
Roles automatically assigned when recruiting a new member. All roles in this list are added at once.
Promotion Roles (Ladder)
Ordered list of promotion roles. Members progress through this ladder one step at a time.
Additional Roles (Non-Promotion)
Roles that can be toggled independently without affecting promotion ladder. Used for specializations, departments, or certifications.
Warning Roles
Progressive warning roles. Each warning adds the next role in the list.
Terminate Roles
Roles assigned when terminating a member. All other panel roles are removed.
Manager Permissions
Control who can perform each action type by assigning manager roles. Members with these roles can execute the corresponding actions.
Using the System
Step 1: View Available Panels
/panelsLists all configured panels with their descriptions. Shows "Start" buttons for each panel.
Step 2: Select Action
Click the "Start" button for a panel to see available actions:
Step 3: Target Member
After selecting an action, send a message mentioning the target member or containing their user ID:
@UsernameOr paste their ID: 123456789012345678
Step 4: Confirmation
The bot will apply the role changes and send a confirmation message with details about what was added/removed.
Commands Configuration
The Roles Manager includes two configurable commands with granular permissions:
/helpConfigurableShows bot help and Roles Manager status, including enabled panels.
/panelsConfigurableLists all configured panels and allows starting actions.
Session System
The Roles Manager uses a session-based system for action execution:
Logging
All role changes are logged with detailed information:
Log Information Includes:
- • Action type (recruit, promotion, demotion, etc.)
- • Panel name
- • Executor (who performed the action)
- • Target member
- • Roles added
- • Roles removed
- • Timestamp
Logs are sent to the configured log channels (promotions, demotions, or role set channels) based on the action type.
Best Practices
✓ Do
- • Set up separate log channels for different action types
- • Use descriptive panel names and descriptions
- • Order promotion roles from lowest to highest
- • Test the system with a test user before going live
- • Assign manager roles carefully based on trust level
✗ Don't
- • Don't use the same role in multiple role maps (causes conflicts)
- • Don't give manager permissions to untrusted roles
- • Don't forget to set up log channels (important for auditing)
- • Don't make promotion ladders too long (harder to manage)
Example Use Case
Military Roleplay Server
- • Recruit Managers: Recruitment Officers
- • Promotion Managers: Command Staff
- • Demotion Managers: Command Staff
- • Warning Managers: Military Police
- • Terminate Managers: High Command Only
